As a family run business, we strive to offer excellent customer care. It is vital to have your chimney swept on a regular basis. This helps to prevent the risk of chimney fires and / or Carbon Monoxide emissions and helps to maintain your appliance, chimney and flue. We offer a courtesy reminder system to ensure you can keep up to date with rebooking your chimney sweep. In our busy lives it is easy to let this slip, so we do all the work for you. You will receive a reminder prior to when your chimney is next due to be swept.
PH Olivier is HETAS approved, APICS accredited, industry trained and works in accordance with the APICS code of conduct.
HETAS and APICS are both Government recognised industry bodies.
Peace of mind. On completion or work, we issue HETAS Approved Certificates that are insurance compliant.
The only way to establish whether a chimney is safe to use is to have a full inspection and chimney sweep carried out by a registered, qualified chimney sweep. If you have not had your chimney swept and certified within the last 12 months you could be at risk of chimney fire and / or Carbon Monoxide poisoning. This may also invalidate your insurance in the event of a chimney fire. We strongly recommend booking an appointment to get your chimney swept.
A full Risk & Safety Assessment will be carried out to ensure your appliance / fireplace is in suitable condition and is installed in line with regulations. We provide a maintenance report outlining safety issues, faults and potential hazards with remedial and / or referral guidance, where applicable. Please be advised that whilst PH Olivier is a HETAS Approved Chimney Sweep, the maintenance checks carried out are not covered under the HETAS Approved Servicing Scheme.
Valuable stove & fire advice is all part of the service. A full inspection with smoke and draw tests are carried out to ensure your appliance is performing at its best.
Stove maintenance checks include assessing cowl suitability and chimney stack condition. Pascal will inspect fire ropes, fire bricks, glass doors and dampeners.
Advice on how to use your appliance to its full potential, helping you to heat your property efficiently. Recommendations on fuel storage and fuel usage guidance are given.
Peace of mind for you and your family. Pascal will conduct Carbon Monoxide (CO2) alarm and smoke alarm testing.

Pascal will carry out a Risk Assessment for Home Fire Safety Visit. We work in partnership with the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service. Where eligible we will refer you for a Home Fire Safety Visit. You will receive confirmation of our findings from us. The Home Fire Safety Visit Team will contact you directly to make arrangements.
Pascal carries out chimney sweeping using traditional, professional rods and brushes. The brushes are manufactured locally in Devon and are designed to a high standard of strength and durability.
The entrance to your chimney is sealed off to contain soot and debris. Soot and debris are extracted using an industrial vacuum with a unique filtering system to ensure a clean, efficient sweep. This keeps mess to a minimum.
Birds nest removal. Please be advised that it is illegal to remove or disturb bird’s nests during the breeding season. If this appliance supplies your only source of heating and / or hot water, you will be required to employ the services of a pest control officer to work alongside Pascal.
